Nancy is a bright and resilient 14-year-old girl in Grade 8. She came to Mukaa in August 2025 through the Children’s Officer for care and protection after enduring an unsafe and painful home environment.

For many years, Nancy lived with her mother, stepfather, and younger siblings. Her home life was unstable, and she often ran away in search of safety.

 

Since coming to Mukaa, she is now receiving consistent care, counseling, and love. Nancy is gradually stabilizing — she is happy, responsible, able to do her daily chores, and interacts well with the other children. She is beginning to heal and to rebuild her confidence and trust in others.
