I came to live at the Mukaa Children’s Home at the end of 2023 with my 2 sisters. We had been abandoned since 2017 by our parents and were trying to survive with minimal help from our grandparents. School officials became concerned with our sporadic attendance and poor physical condition. Upon investigation, they learned of our vulnerability in the home and the abuse we were experiencing. Thankfully, we were rescued from these horrific conditions and brought to Mukaa where we feel safe and can heal. I am now in 2nd grade and beginning to learn for the first time about true physical security and tender loving care.
