Catherine and her older brother lost their parents to domestic violence and suicide in 2017. Since that time they lived with an alcoholic grandfather and only survived through the generosity of a kindly neighbor. As of July 2022, Catherine and her brother can now call the loving staff and children of the Mukaa Children’s Home their new family. Even with all the trauma of her young life, Catherine is described as a sweet and friendly child who is eager to learn and experience the security of a supportive environment for the first time.
